"That's the server for The Elders. It's a decent pub. Way better when a bunch of TE guys are on. A little on the serioustato side, but they also have a community feel to them and allow for some silliness. The third guy on their HLstatsX rankings plays almost exclusively pyro. Their peak hours are a lot like MeFi's.

... and if you do play there ... WATCH FOR SPIES. I mean really, really, really WATCH FOR SPIES."

"All crits & medics have area of effect heals, and I'm pretty sure it's insta-spawn. Lots of fun, and teaches you to not run far from your medics. Even nice players for a pub. Sometimes they'll put on a map that's just a big box, the carnage is incredible."

"Wireplay.co.uk servers are kind of random regarding players - mostly good experiences, though. There's CTF_Yaaargh (vikings) which is pretty fun - lots of epic battles in the basement. I'm also a sucker for the maps where players are rodent-sized in a huge house. CP_Rats_Alpha is fantastic. The capture points are all vulnerable from horizontal and vertical attacks and there are a number of different ways to get from point to point. I think it plays pretty well and the design is very clever. Hope they're still up and running!"

Suggester's edit: CrazedCrackHeadz used to be a fun playground for new ToyFortElite maps with lowgrav and other interesting settings, with a good crew and atmosphere. Not the case anymore with a map rotation and it seems to be loosing regular players =/

The [...] "clan" credo seems very familiar:

We are [...]. We will consume all. Our non-silence, all-nonsense clan will be victorious against all campaigns, dictatorships, and regimes. All will be in the palm of our hand, to be crushed like a puny insect. We have fun. We have control. We are [...].

PS - Although we promote a fun and loud atmosphere, please do not spam in the mic. This includes sound boards, blasting annoying music/sounds into the mic, and yelling. We promote chatting in general, but not spam.
