Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines, abbreviated as Bloodlines or VTMB, is a computer role-playing game for Windows developed by Troika Games in 2004. Like Activision’s Vampire: The Masquerade – Redemption, Bloodlines is set in White Wolf, Inc.’s Vampire: The Masquerade universe also known as the World of Darkness (WoD), but it is not a sequel to the earlier game. The game allows the player to choose one of several different vampire clans and progress through the game according to the different strengths and weaknesses of the player’s character, as in its paper and pencil role playing origins.

Although Bloodlines divided critics at the time of release, it retains a popular cult following.[2] It is also notable for being the first game along with Half-Life 2 to use Valve’s Source engine, which allows the game to be played from either the first-person or third-person shooter perspective. It is also Troika Games’ third title and the last to be made before Troika closed down in February 2005.

Bloodlines is in part a spiritual successor to Deus Ex; it blends FPS and RPG similarly to Fallout 3. Prospective players are advised to visit the GameBanshee link to acquire the latest fanpatch, which comes in both “fixes all the bugs” and “fixes all the bugs and finishes the unfinished content” varieties.

Clive Barker’s Jericho is a supernatural horror-themed first person shooter video game with author Clive Barker providing the premise of the storyline. The game was released for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 and available on GameTap on October 23, 2007. It can also be downloaded via Steam.

The Department of Occult Warfare was created in the 1930s to combat the supernatural and unexplained. Another purpose was to meet Nazi Germany’s own research into the paranormal. One of their most brilliant members, Arnold Leach, was recruited in 1962. However, his unscrupulous behavior and nature would eventually have him expelled. He was marked for assassination, and although the operation appeared to be successful, it seems that he may have survived.

The Jericho Squad is sent to Al-Khali to prevent Leach from opening the breach and unleashing the Firstborn upon mankind once again.

Mount&Blade is a medieval single-player open-ended action role-playing video game for Windows developed by the Turkish company TaleWorlds, and published by Paradox Interactive. Its retail version was released on September 16, 2008 in North America, and three days later in Europe. The game originated as an independent project of Armağan Yavuz, founder of TaleWorlds, and his wife, Ipek Yavuz. Prior to its retail release, beta versions of the game were published on the developer’s website.

Mount&Blade is an action oriented role-playing game with emphasis on mounted combat. Unlike most other titles of the genre, the game contains no fantasy elements. It does not restrict the player to a certain storyline, but instead presents a sandbox medieval realm named Calradia, in which the player is given the ability to either join one of the five available battling factions, assume the role of an outlaw, or take a neutral side.

Reception on Mount&Blade has been overall positive. Reviewers praised the game for its innovative combat mechanics, complex character skill system, and large modding community, but also criticized it for its repetitive quests, dialogs, and locations, as well as low graphics quality

It is the sequel to the critically acclaimed 2007 video game BioShock. The game was released world-wide on February 9, 2010.

The game is set in fictional dystopian city Rapture in alternative history 1968, eight years after the events of BioShock. The protagonist and player-controlled character is a Big Daddy, a being that has had its organs and skin grafted into an atmospheric diving suit. Among the first of its kind, the player-controlled Big Daddy reactivates with no recollection of the past decade’s events, and scours the city in a vain attempt to relocate the Little Sister that he was paired with. When it becomes obvious that Rapture’s leader Sofia Lamb will become responsible for the city’s destruction, the Big Daddy attempts to overthrow Lamb and her army of Big Sisters.

Burnout Paradise (formerly known as Burnout 5) by Criterion Games is the seventh game in the Burnout video game series. It was released in January 2008 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and on February 5, 2009 on Microsoft Windows. It was also released on the PlayStation Store in September 2008 and via Xbox Live Marketplace’s Games on Demand in August 2009. It has an open world set in the fictional Paradise City.

The PC menus are annoying to navigate, since they’re pretty obviously ported from the consoles. Once you actually get into the game and start driving around, though, it’s a lot of fun. It feels like you can go really fast, and it’s got an arcade feeling that lends itself well to casual, fun racing. There’s an open world model (sort of) and it feels a lot like driving around in GTA, only there are no people walking around, no guns, and no cops. Lots of races, “survival” games, and rounds where you have to crash your opponents.

Also known as “Fahrenheit” outside North America, this game was marketed as an interactive movie rather than a game, and it utilizes a large amount of motion captured animation as well as branching story lines and split screen cameras that gives the game a cinematic feel.

The story begins on a cold New York night, when Lucas Kane, the main and primary male protagonist, becomes possessed and stabs a man to death in the restroom of an East Side diner, then flees the scene in confusion. His crime is set against a backdrop of similar ritualistic murders and falling winter temperatures. Lucas has unwittingly become involved in a prophecy that will determine the fate of the world, and he spends the game trying to uncover the supernatural forces behind his crime. Detectives Valenti and Miles are charged with solving the case and tracking Lucas down. The player is placed in control of all three characters, and occasionally of Markus, Lucas’ brother, over the course of the game.

Event triggers in the game are mainly time-based, requiring timing and reflexes, but larger action set pieces and endurance events (used to evoke physical exertion) are also included. The game also provides each character with a “Mental Health” meter, which goes from full (“Neutral”) to empty (“Wrecked”) and represents the character’s mental health. An empty Sanity meter leads to the game ending, with the outcome depending on the specific character.

The original title was changed to Indigo Prophecy in the United States and Canada to avoid confusion with the film Fahrenheit 9/11. Scenes depicting sex (one of which is interactive) and other “adult content” were also removed from the North American versions.

Originally released for the Xbox, PS2, and PC, but also available on the Xbox360.
